Open Flashcards is an app for writing and studying flashcards on your iPhone. No account, ads or study limit.

Create and organize

Tap Add First Card to begin immediately in a deck called My Cards, or create a named deck first. Card text is saved locally on every change. Open a deck to edit, duplicate, reorder or delete cards.

Study your way

Study a deck in its original order or shuffle it. Choose front-first or back-first prompts. Reveal the other side, then mark the card Again or Know. If a session is interrupted, the app restores the same queue, card side and remaining count.

Import and export

Open Flashcards imports and exports ordinary CSV files with front and back columns. Quoted commas, quotation marks and line breaks are preserved. Use Prepare CSV Export, then choose where to save or share the file with the iOS share sheet.

Recovery and deletion

The app keeps a previous-good local snapshot and uses it if the main store becomes unreadable. Deleting a card or deck removes it from the device after the shown confirmation where applicable, so export important decks before deleting them.
